오늘이 연우의 의사를 보러 싼타모니카에 가는 날이었다. 연우는 세달에 한번꼴로 몸에 해로운 중금속을 제거하러 병원에가서 주사를 맞는다…. 이날은 항상 마음이 무거운날이다. 연우가 아무것도 모른채 어릴적부터 주사 4-5 줄을 맞는날이고, 그 여파로 점심도 못먹고 아침에 먹은것도 다 토해내기도 하곤 하는 날이기 때문이다. 다운타운에 들러 한가하게 밥도먹고 장도보고 그러고싶은데 막상 주사를 다맞고나면 빨리 집에가서 쉬게해줘야 할것같은날.
그런데 오늘은 달랐다. 병원 올라가는 입구부터 얼굴하얘지며 안가겠다고 징징거린다. 주사맞기전에도 화장실가야한다고 가서는 안나온다. 대기방에서 장난감놀겠다고 안가겠단다.
그렇게 그렇게 의사와 간호사와 씨름을하고 주사맞고 나오면서 이런생각을했다.. 애초에 이랬어야 했다는. .. 의사보러가는게 싫었어야 당연한거고 주사맞는게 싫어 무슨수를써서라도 빠져나와야 하는게 당연한것 아닌가.
진이빠져 기진맥진했는데 연우가 너무 기특했다. “짜식 이제 주사 무서워 할줄도알고..훗”
겔러리아가서 연우가좋아하는 누피인형을 사줬다. 연우가 징징대는게 고마웠다….

HEAVEN’S VERY SPECIAL CHILD A meeting was held quite far from Earth! It’s time again for another birth. Said the Angels to the LORD above,
This Special Child will need much love.
His progress may be very slow, Accomplishments he may not show. And he’ll require extra care
From the folks he meets down there.
He may not run or laugh or play, His thoughts may seem quite far away, In many ways he won’t adapt,
And he’ll be known as handicapped.
So let’s be careful where he’s sent, We want his life to be content. Please LORD, find the parents who
Will do a special job for you.
They will not realize right away The leading role they’re asked to play, But with this child sent from above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.
And soon they’ll know the privilege given In caring for their gift from Heaven. Their precious charge, so meek and mild,
Is HEAVEN’S VERY SPECIAL CHILD.
